I love the music and repeated use of the corny themes. this is annoying to deal with -The game falls victim to common pitfalls of its time (Bad QTE Sequences, Pushing crates is *way* too slow, melee weapons are sometimes awkward and not fun to use) -Some routes to certain locations are pointlessly long (biggest offender: the mansion, which has a fast travel location all the way at the beginning of the winding road) NOW, WITH ALL THAT IN MIND These are all really minor annoyances in the long run, the fact that these are my only legitimate complains means this game is getting a LOT right. Would've prefferred if they gave you buffs when full/rested, instead they are pretty much a minor inconvenience at worst, but also tiredness really doesnt effect you ever because you sleep often enough for side quests -Some side quests are weather dependent, forcing you to just sleep for multiple days waiting for the weather to change. I would have preferred if there were a radio, the tracks are short and loop a bit too much -The Hunger and Tiredness mechanics could be more fleshed out. This one becomes charming eventually tho -There is no way to turn certain things on or off on the map screen -The map rotates with the player, I would honestly just prefer if it were always northwards facing -Driving music is dependent on your vehicle. The things stopping the game from being a 8 or 9 for me are: -You cannot Zoom out All the way on the map screen -Animations can be a bit clunky. Overall Deadly Premonition really nails the vibe its going for, the only issues I have with the game are the more clunky aspects that start to get a bit grating if you're going for a 100% run, which I felt compelled to do because the world was so fun, and I wasnt overwhelmed by what a complete run would be. 26h PlayedFantastic game, only marred by some minor persistent issues Great Music, Decent Visuals, Great Plot, Fantastic Characters, love the world and the town.
